I have read alot classic SF lately.

Jack Vance - Dying Earth,Empyrio,To Live Forever
Alfred Bester - The Stars My Destination
Robert E Heinlein -The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
Philip K Dick - Now Wait for Last Year,A Maze of Death,Paycheck,The Minority Report,We Remember it for you Wholesale
Frank Herbert - Dune
ERB - A Princess of Mars
Robert Silverberg - The Man in the Maze

I enjoy Classic SF most of any fiction. There were 1000 times better authors then than todays SF authors.

I have'nt posted in a while,absolutely love sci-fi, classic and contempory.
The Dune series was brilliant even if it tailed off slightly imo.
The Forever Hero by van Voght was equally enjoyable even if it suffered from the same problem.
Ian M Banks is a little hit and miss again imo.
Asminov is still king!

Must be because i'm ancient in years;

Poul Anderson - the broken sword (The book that inspired Michael Moorcock)
Michael Moorcock - Eternal Champion series.
Robert E Howard - For his Conan and Soloman Kane
Tolkien - we've all been there and read him.
Arthur C. Clarke - I'm sure you've read his works as well.

Can i add that Michael Moorcock can damage your reputation ! When Finalfunk stayed, he was in my room and i was giving him some Gemmell' books and offered him some Moorcock books when he said (just as my house mate walked past a slightly open door) " No i dont want any Moorcock at the moment"
(still laugh about that now).

Could have been "Moorcock? Moorcock? Why do I need Moorcock?"

Or it could have been during packing,

"I just can't get any Moorcock in."

Sadly I don't read any classic SF. And I blame any comment that I may have or haven't made while in England on Mark.
